Our school-based health centers provide accessible, comprehensive health care directly on the school campus for the medically underserved youth and young adult population. We assist in preventing long-term illnesses and improving overall health. Having these campus health centers for students help reduce emergency room visits, decrease parental absences from work, increase early detection and treatment of disease, and provide linkages to community services when necessary.
Northeast Valley Health Corporation operates three school-based health centers: Maclay Health Center for Children (Charles Maclay Middle School), San Fernando High School Teen Health Center and Los Angeles Mission College Student Health Center. The student health centers are staffed by health professionals who understand the needs of children, adolescents and young adults.
