Family planning is an important part of building a healthy life. Our reproductive health care team offers many services to help you and your partner plan for a lifetime of good health. Our family planning services offer contraceptive education and counseling, birth control prescriptions, emergency contraception, IUD insertion and removal, pregnancy testing and counseling, and more.
Our gynecology services provide primary and preventative care to ensure that women maintain optimal gynecological health at every age. Our reproductive health care team provides well-woman exams, pelvic exams, colposcopy services and important cancer screenings such as breast exams and cervical cancer screenings. Our health care team also provides referrals to specialists for specialized health care services.
Having a baby is one of life’s biggest decisions. At NEVHC, our reproductive health care team will care for you and your baby during and after your pregnancy. Our team provides prenatal care that includes education, counseling, physical exams, weight checks, blood tests and imaging such as ultrasounds. Our reproductive health care team partners with trusted community hospitals that provide labor and delivery services. We will also ensure that new moms continue to receive high-quality medical and behavioral health care services after they give birth.
NEVHC supports breastfeeding as the best nutritional choice for your baby. Our breastfeeding consultants and pediatricians will work closely with you to prepare you to feed your newborn and ensure that your baby is feeding well. We also offer multilingual breastfeeding support groups, breastfeeding pumps and a multilingual breastfeeding helpline to answer your breastfeeding questions.
The WIC Program at NEVHC helps mothers and children access nutritious foods that support a healthy lifestyle. Our WIC educators and nutritionists work closely with parents to educate them about nutrition, breastfeeding and how to raise a healthy child.
NEVHC offers a full spectrum of STI testing and treatment services that are confidential. Throughout our health centers, we offer diagnosis, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted infections for women and men. Our health care team also offers HIV testing, counseling, case management support and PrEP medication navigation.

Northeast Valley Health Corporation was incorporated in 1971 by a group of San Fernando Valley civic leaders who envisioned establishing a healthcare system that catered to the medical needs of the local community. They opened San Fernando Health Center in 1973 and celebrated its dedication with the late U.S. Senator Ted. Kennedy. Today, NEVHC has grown to 14 health centers in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys and continue to serve the uninsured and the medically underserved patients with limited financial resources. Nearly 70,000 patients receive medical, dental and behavioral health care at our health centers every year. NEVHC, one of the nation’s largest community health centers, is a nonprofit Joint Commission accredited Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
