Building Healthier Communities
Our National Health Center Week (NHCW) was a success! We kicked off the week by celebrating our staff who make our work possible. Breakfast was provided at every NEVHC location as a special thank-you for their commitment. We then welcomed attendees to our Reseda Health Center Open House, offering a tour of the new site. The celebration continued with our Community Health and Resource Fair, where more than 400 families received health, school and community resources. More than 700 backpacks were distributed during the event. Many thanks to our sponsors, community partners and committed staff for making this week as successful as it was. We are looking forward to seeing how next year’s NHCW week will be!

NHCW 2025
NHCW is an annual celebration held in the second week of August to recognize the vital role that community health centers play in providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to millions of people. Last year, we hosted an engaging panel discussion commemorating the 35th anniversary of our HIV program, highlighted the importance of sustained HIV services, and examined proposed budget cuts, while panelists provided guidance and offered insight into the promising future of HIV care. We would like to thank the honorees, panelists and guests for attending and helping make the event impactful and memorable.

Northeast Valley Health Corporation was incorporated in 1971 by a group of San Fernando Valley civic leaders who envisioned establishing a healthcare system that catered to the medical needs of the local community. They opened San Fernando Health Center in 1973 and celebrated its dedication with the late U.S. Senator Ted. Kennedy. Today, NEVHC has grown to 14 health centers in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys and continue to serve the uninsured and the medically underserved patients with limited financial resources. Nearly 70,000 patients receive medical, dental and behavioral health care at our health centers every year. NEVHC, one of the nation’s largest community health centers, is a nonprofit Joint Commission accredited Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
