Resuming Dental Services Monday, May 18
Dear NEVHC Patient,
We hope you and your family are safe and healthy during this time. Our community has been through a lot over the past few months, and we look forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. On May 7, 2020, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) notified us that we can start providing regular dental services. After careful preparation and planning, our dental centers will open on Monday, May 18, 2020 to resume providing dental care to our patients.
While many things have changed, our commitment to your safety and well-being is still our top priority. NEVHC’s dental centers have always followed strict infection control processes for cleaning and disinfecting our sites. Our infection control processes are designed so that when you receive care, you are safe and comfortable.
NEVHC follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the California Dental Association (CDA), the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) and the Occupational Safety, Administration (OSHA). We follow their guidance and stay up-to-date on any new rulings that may be issued to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and meet all recommendations.
While we have always taken strong measures to protect our patients’ health, we are taking extra steps to care for you at your next appointment. These steps include:
- Pre-screening all patients for symptoms of illness over the telephone and again during check-in/registration.
- Taking each patient's and staff member's temperature when they arrive at our dental centers.
- Requiring all patients to wear a mask when visiting our dental centers.
- Providing hand sanitizer throughout our dental centers.
- Scheduling appointments in a way that allows for social distancing between patients in our dental operatories and waiting rooms.
- Pediatric patients and adults with caregivers may bring one visitor to their appointment. Additional guests are not permitted in the dental centers and will be asked to wait in their cars.
- Each member of our staff will be wearing personal protective equipment.
We look forward to seeing you again, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe when you receive care in our dental centers. To make an appointment, call (818) 270-9555.
Sincerely,
Northeast Valley Health Corporation

About US
Northeast Valley Health Corporation was incorporated in 1971 by a group of San Fernando Valley civic leaders who envisioned establishing a healthcare system that catered to the medical needs of the local community. They opened San Fernando Health Center in 1973 and celebrated its dedication with the late U.S. Senator Ted. Kennedy. Today, NEVHC has grown to 14 health centers in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys and continue to serve the uninsured and the medically underserved patients with limited financial resources. Nearly 70,000 patients receive medical, dental and behavioral health care at our health centers every year. NEVHC, one of the nation’s largest community health centers, is a nonprofit Joint Commission accredited Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
