        Why Does Dental Health Matter?

Your mouth is a direct link to your body and your overall health.  Great oral health has many benefits.  As children, our facial muscles and speech develop in connection with our tongue and presence of baby teeth.  In school, children with painful cavities suffer, creating difficulties in focusing and learning. As adults, cavities can be painful and not only affect our self esteem but also our ability to eat properly and nourish our bodies, healthy teeth and gums not only help us look and feel good, they also make it possible to maintain a healthy way of life.

Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) provides dental care to over 3,238 children and 2,824 adults each year at our two dental sites: San Fernando Health Center and Sun Valley Health Center.  Offering dental services enhances NEVHC’s ability to continue its mission of providing high quality health care to local residents with particular attention to the medically underserved and low income populations who may not have otherwise been able to see a dentist.

All services are provided in a confidential and personal setting and include:

        • Dental and health education
        • Exams
        • Radiographs (x-rays)
        • Cleanings

        • Crowns and bridges
        • Extractions
