Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) is here to help, and to provide children with the foundation for a lifetime of good health. We offer health services to children and young adults from birth to age 21, so that they can head into adulthood on the right foot.
All services are provided in a confidential and personal setting and include:
Well Child Exams
A well-child exam is a physical and medical assessment of a child. These exams are scheduled at regular intervals during the first two years of life, and then annually after the age of two. Many things can occur during a well-child exam, including:
- Examination of the child’s body
- Height/weight measurements
- Vaccinations
- Nutrition assessment
- Developmental screening
- School assessments and referrals
- Age specific education regarding your child’s growth and development
Pediatric Care
NEVHC offers age appropriate primary and preventive health services to children and young adults from birth up to the age 21. For continuity of care, after the age of 21 years old, a young adult can be linked to one of the adult providers in our Family Medicine department.
Same Day Sick Child Visits
We offer same day services for sick children.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program
Our WIC program provides pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children (less than 5 years of age) with monthly food vouchers. Nutrition education, counseling, breastfeeding support and referrals to other programs are among the services provided. For more information, click here.

Women are frequently busy with multiple responsibilities such as work and caring for their families. As a woman juggling many responsibilities, it can be easy to neglect your own health care needs. Regular healthcare visits are important to stay healthy. Your family depends on you!
Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) recognizes the unique medical needs of women, and provides a variety of medical services specifically designed for women. We strive to help our patients get the information and care they need. During pregnancy, we are your partner in achieving the best pregnancy outcome for your health and the health of your baby.
All services are provided in a confidential and personal setting and include:
Prenatal Care
Comprehensive prenatal services cover all aspects of pregnancy. We partner with several reputable hospitals that provide labor and delivery services, including referrals to specialists for high-risk patients. Our hospital partners include Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Olive View Medical Center, Northridge Hospital (Roscoe campus), Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, and Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center
Other services include:
- Prenatal medical visits
- Care of high-risk pregnancies
- Ultrasound
- Nutrition counseling
- Behavioral health counseling
- Medical visits after delivery
- Parenting classes
- Dental services (during pregnancy)
- Breastfeeding education and support
- Laboratory testing
- Help applying for MediCal and other insurance programs when appropriate
- After hours on-call services (available 24 hours/day)
- Referral to birthing classes

Family Planning
A variety of family planning services are offered for reproductive needs. These services include:
- Emergency contraception
- Pelvic exams
- Cervical cancer screening
- Breast exams
- Contraceptive education and counseling
- Birth control prescriptions
- HIV testing and counseling
- IUD insertion and removal
- Contraceptive Injections
- Diagnosis and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) for men
- Pregnancy testing and counseling
- Sexually transmitted disease prevention education and treatment
- Referrals to other services as needed
Gynecology Services
We offer evaluation and treatment of common gynecological problems in women. These services include:
- Routine breast and gynecological exams
- Abnormal periods
- Vaginal or pelvic infection
- Pelvic pain
- Ovarian cyst evaluation
Colposcopy Services
We provide evaluation and treatment of abnormal Pap smears, including colposcopy (a close examination of the cervix with a special microscope), cervical biopsy and LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) to surgically remove cervical abnormalities.

Our school-based health centers (SBHCs) provide accessible, comprehensive health care directly on the school campus for the underserved youth and young adult population facing barriers to health care. We assist in preventing long-term illnesses and improving overall health. SBHCs leverage economic resources by reducing emergency room visits, decreasing parental absences from work, increasing early detection and treatment of disease and providing linkages to community services when necessary.
Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) operates three school-based health centers: Maclay Health Center for Children (Charles Maclay Middle School), San Fernando High School Teen Health Center and Los Angeles Mission College Student Health Center. The student health centers are staffed by health professionals who understand the needs of children, adolescents and young adults.

We provide all services on a sliding fee scale to financially qualified clients. We also accept Medi-Cal, Medicare and most private insurances. Our services are supported by grants and contracts from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program.

Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) is fighting against the spread of STIs. We know how important testing and treatment are. We have designed our services to help individuals manage STIs with the least stress to them and their loved ones.
All services are provided in a confidential and personal setting and include:
- Diagnosis and Treatment for:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- Genital Warts
- Syphilis
- Herpes
- Trichomoniasis
- HIV
- Prescription of antibiotics or antivirals when indicated
- Contraceptive Education and Distribution
- Safe Sex/Risk Reduction Education
These services are offered at our six primary health care centers, as well as our HIV, homeless and school-based health centers. Rapid HIV testing is available on our Mobile Unit.S
