Q. How do I know if I have a refill on my medication? How can I request a refill?
A. The number of refills remaining on your prescription is printed on the bottom left hand corner of the label on your medication vial.
Refills may be requested through the Pharmacy Refill Line 24 hours a day at 818-270-9797. You will need your prescription number to request a refill through the Pharmacy Refill Line. This 7 digit number can be found on your medication bottle. By calling this number, you can also check if your prescription is ready for pick up. You can also refill your prescription online by going to nevhc.org/pharmacy or using the MobileRX app.
A. If you have refills remaining on your prescription, please allow 24 hours to refill an order that is placed through the Pharmacy Refill Line. If you order a prescription but are out of refills, we will contact your medical provider for authorization. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing. You will receive 3 reminder calls when your prescriptions are ready to be picked up. Sometimes you may be required to make an appointment to see your provider before we can refill your medication. The nurse from the health center will call you in this case.
Q. I just had an appointment and my doctor prescribed a new medicine. When will my prescription be ready for pick up once my doctor sends it to the Pharmacy?
A. Your prescription will be processed in the order it was received. As soon as you finish with your medical appointment, call or stop by the pharmacy to let us know you need your prescription filled as soon as possible. If you pick up your medication at your clinic and not at the Pharmacy, we will automatically fill your prescription for you and send it to your health center. If you have any questions, please call us at 818-365-8086.
Q. How long will the pharmacy hold my prescriptions once they are filled?
A. Prescriptions that are not picked up within 10 days will be returned to the Pharmacy stock. Please plan to pick up your prescriptions as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary waiting or reprocessing.
Q. Will I have to pay for my prescription?
A. NEVHC is a non-profit community health center which offers many assistance programs that may help with the cost of medications. All patients are screened for these programs and we will help you fill out any necessary forms. If you do not qualify for a no-cost program, we offer a sliding fee scale that is based on your ability to pay. You may be asked to fill out applications and provide income records for medications that you receive through a Patient Assistance Program (PAP). This information must be turned in as soon as possible. The Pharmacy staff will help you with this process and explain all the forms.
Q. What do I need to bring to pick up my medication?
A. Please have your NEVHC clinic ID card and insurance card (if applicable) with you every time you visit the Pharmacy. Sometimes the pharmacy may require you to present a picture ID when you pick up controlled substance prescriptions.
NEVHC pharmacists are always available to counsel you on your prescriptions at the San Fernando pharmacy or over the phone.
