Members of Congress have begun to work on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Appropriations. During the Federal Appropriations process, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committees hold hearings to create appropriations bills to fund the federal government. The appropriations bills must pass the House and Senate and then be signed by the President. We need your help to urge our Members of Congress to support $1.8 billion in discretionary funding for Community Health Centers (CHCs) in the FY23 appropriations bill.
Increased discretionary funding will allow us to:
· Hire additional culturally diverse providers to continue providing high quality care to our patients as COVID-19 cases continue to persist.
· Invest in care coordination and innovative programs such as our Medicated Assisted Treatment, which combines the use of medication, counseling and behavioral therapies for treatment of substance use disorders.
Send an e-mail to our Members of Congress and urge them to secure increased discretionary funding in the FY23 Appropriations process. Increased discretionary funding will help us meet our community’s demand for high-quality healthcare services.
