The Valley Food Bank has multiple food pantry locations throughout San Fernando County, including San Fernando, Sylmar, Van Nuys and Granada Hills. For locations and hours, click here.
Khalsa Care Foundation Food Pantry: Weekly Hot Meal Program in Pacoima
Every Friday at 2pm, the food pantry at the Khalsa Care Foundation offers hot meals until supplies run out.

Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) Benefits for Families with Children
Families whose children were eligible for free or reduced price school lunches will get extra EBT food benefits beginning in May. Families will receive up to $365 per child. Those already receiving CalFresh, Medi-Cal or Foster Care benefits will not need to apply.
Most will begin getting their P-EBT cards in the month of May. Those that do not receive their P-EBT card in the mail by late May must apply for one by June 30. Online applications will launch in late May. Read more information on Pandemic EBT benefits here.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Mobile Food Pantry
LA Regional Food Bank has partnered with Central Lutheran Church in Van Nuys to provide the Mobile Food Pantry, a farmer’s market on wheels.
Distribution is twice a month from 1pm – 3pm on the following dates:
April 27, May 11, May 27, June 8, June 22. Visitors are encouraged to bring carts and bags.

EBT Cards Accepted for Online Purchases at Amazon, Walmart
Individuals can use their EBT cards to make grocery purchases on amazon.com and at walmart.com.

New Partnership to Provide Meals to Angelenos with DisabilitiesResource Guide
The city of Los Angeles has partnered with Fox Corporation to provide 2,000 meals, five days a week, to individuals and families identified by the City’s Department on Disability, the California Department of Rehabilitation, and 20 community-based organizations that serve individuals with disabilities across L.A.
According to the City of Los Angeles’ COVID-19 website, “…The meals will be prepared by the FOX Corporation food service team on the FOX lot in Cheviot Hills, and delivered to a hub at one of our public library branches, where drivers from Access Services will pick them up and bring them directly to the Angelenos who need them.”
The Angeleno Card: Financial Assistance for Low Income Households
Mayor Garcetti’s office has announced a new program for low income residents of the City of Los Angeles. The Angeleno Card will provide assistance in the form of a prepaid grocery gift card or prepaid, no-fee debit card to households that reside in the city of Los Angeles, had an income below the Federal Poverty Level before coronavirus, and have lost their job or 50% or more of their income due to coronavirus. Immigration status is not considered when determining eligibility.
One Degree’s COVID-19 Resource Guide
One Degree’s COVID-19 Resource Guide is updated Monday – Friday by 2 PM. The resource guide is a collaborative effort between Cal State LA, Los Angeles Department of Health Services, One Degree, and other community organizations and members who are committed to the well-being and health of our community. The resource guide includes food resources and is available in English and Spanish.
Emergency Senior Meals Response Program
On April 15, Mayor Garcetti announced a new meal delivery service for residents of the City of Los Angeles age 60 and over.
The Emergency Senior Meals Response Program will provide ten meals per week to over 12,000 seniors through a partnership with Everytable. To sign up, call 213-263-5226 between 9am and 5pm on Thursdays, or click here.

USDA’S “Meals for Kids”
The United States Department of Agriculture launched an online tool to help families find meals for children while schools are closed during the coronavirus pandemic. The “Meals for Kids” interactive map directs people to local sites where kids can get free meals. The map is available in both English and Spanish and can be accessed by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is helping local communities through this difficult time. Its website offers an easy-to-use food bank locator tool. Simply input your address and you will find the address and contact information of the nearest food agency providing food to the public. The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Grab and Go Food Centers
The LA Unified School District’s interactive map details the locations of its 60 Grab and Go food centers, which provide two nutritious take-home meals per student, Monday through Friday between 7-11am. Reach their hotline at: 213-443-1300.

The Los Angeles County Workforce Development Aging and Community Services (WDACS) Department’s Meal Sites
LA County’s WDACS department is offering packaged and frozen meals to older adults at their meal sites, which can be found using the map tool on their website. Adults 65 and older must arrange for a family member, caregiver or friend under 65 to pick up their meals. For assistance, call WDACS at: 1-800-510-2020. https://wdacs.lacounty.gov/covid-19/
The Department of Public Social Services: CalFresh
CalFresh is a nutrition program that can help households buy healthy foods. In California, CalFresh used to be known as the Food Stamp Program. Nationally, the program is called SNAP. It is funded by the federal government. CalFresh benefits are issued on an EBT card that works like a debit card and can be used at most grocery stores and many farmers markets to purchase food.
