Appointments
Yes. It is important to continue to take care of your health during COVID-19. If you need to see a doctor for preventative services, a follow-up, or an emergency, we will schedule an appointment for you that is safe and convenient.
It is especially important for pediatric patients to continue to seek health care services to make sure that children are growing healthy and are up-to-date with their vaccinations that will prevent other disease and illness.
NEVHC offers video, telephone and in-person appointments to make sure that you can continue to receive care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telephone and video appointments are popular with our patients. Many of our patients like telephone and video appointments because they:
• Can meet with their provider in real-time while at home or at work
• Do not require travel or transportation
• Take less time than in-person visits
• Do not require spending time in waiting rooms
• Do not need for patients to find child care
• Are just as safe and secure as in-person visits
You will always receive the high-quality care you expect and deserve from NEVHC during your telephone, video or in-person visit.
Due to COVID-19, we have limited the number of patients visiting our health centers. Before scheduling an in-person appointment, you may be required to meet with a medical provider over video or telephone to discuss your health concerns and be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. Patients will be scheduled for an in-person appointment based on the recommendation of their provider.
Be assured that you will always receive high-quality health care service regardless of the type of appointment scheduled.
We understand that plans can change and you may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Please contact our appointment center to make changes to your appointment. You can reach the appointment center at San Fernando Valley (818) 270-9777 or Santa Clarita Valley (661) 705-2040.
Safety
Yes. NEVHC closely follows the COVID-19 guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to limit the spread of COVID-19. These guidelines include:
• Screening patients and staff for COVID-19 symptoms every day.
• Requiring patients and staff to wear face masks and appropriate PPE at health centers.
• Limiting visitors and in-patient appointments to allow for proper social distancing.
• Scheduling sick visits at the end of each session to avoid exposing other patients and also give us extra time to clean and disinfect the health centers.
• Encouraging patients and staff to frequently wash their hands and use hand sanitizer provided throughout the health centers.
COVID-19 is primarily spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes and releases respiratory droplets into the air that come into contact with another person’s eyes, nose and/or mouth. At NEVHC, we always wear personal protective equipment such as face masks, goggles and face shields, wash our hands and practice social distancing to protect ourselves and you from exposure to COVID-19.
We encourage you to follow the steps that we take to protect you and your loved ones from infection. These steps include:
• Using a face mask when you are in public.
• Maintaining 6 feet of physical distance from people who do not live with you.
• Washing hands regularly and using hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
