Morning-after-pills are a safe and effective way to prevent unwanted pregnancies after having unprotected sex. Emergency contraception is most effective when used as soon as possible after having unprotected sex.

Emergency Contraception Types

If you had sex without using birth control you can use emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy. Emergency contraception can be used up to five days after you had unprotected sex. This form of birth control is safe and effective.
