FIT-N-FUN at Home with NEVHC
When it comes to chronic disease prevention, it helps to start early. Join NEVHC’s Dr. Teda Arunrut for our Fit-N-Fun at Home segment to learn how physical activity can help people of all ages prevent chronic disease. There is a recommendation for every member of the family.
Cooking at Home with NEVHC
Need some ideas for healthy meals? Join CalFresh Healthy Living Program Manager Denise Torres for a cooking demonstration to help you introduce healthy fruits and vegetables into your meals! The recipe is kid-friendly so we encourage you to invite your kids to participate!

Gardening at Home with NEVHC
Join CalFresh Healthy Living Program Coordinator Monsi Portillo for guidance on how to start a herb or vegetable garden at home! This workshop takes into consideration that people may not have yard space to plant gardens. Monsi will teach you how to plant a container garden and answer questions about garden care and maintenance.
Diabetes Prevention with NEVHC
Did you know that 1 in 3 people living in the U.S. is at risk for Type 2 diabetes? Join Health Education Program Manager Maria Guerrero for guidance on how you can prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes. Maria will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes and provide fun tips for healthy living.
Advocating for Community Health
Join NEVHC’s Government and Community Relations Manager Brian Gavidia to learn how you can champion your community’s health through advocacy and civic engagement. Brian will offer simple ways to advocate from home that include direct digital advocacy efforts like e-mailing legislators, participating in tweet-storms and more!

Discussions about systemic racism are at the forefront of today’s society. Join NEVHC Providers to learn how story-telling and reading with your child can provide a pathway to understanding diversity and inclusion. An age-appropriate reading list will also be shared.

Join NEVHC provider Dr. Teda Arunrut for Walking Together, a children’s book written by Jade Mathieson and illustrated by Louwrisa Blaauw. This reading is performed in both English and Thai.
