Understanding National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week (NHCW) is an annual celebration held in the second week of August to recognize the vital that role community health centers play in providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to millions of people. To increase awareness of America’s 1,400+ Community Health Centers, NHCW highlights their contributions to improving health outcomes and reducing healthcare disparities amongst underserved communities.

How are we celebrating?

Community Resource Center Open House

Join us on August 5, 2024, for an open house at the NEVHC Community Resource Center! This event, hosted by our Managed Care team, will mark the official renaming of what was formerly known as “NEVHC Outreach & Enrollment Storefront.”

The NEVHC Community Resource Center will serve as the hub for information and enrollment into public services. Learn more about the resources and services we offer while exploring the Community Resource Center!

Mobile Health Center Unveiling

We invite you to our Mobile Health Center Unveiling on August 7, 2024! It will include a short program led by NEVHC executives and funders who made the new mobile health center a reality.

The new mobile health center will replace the current mobile unit that has been operating since 2007. It will continue to focus services on patients experiencing homelessness and feature advanced equipment that is typically only available inside of a traditional health center.

About US

Northeast Valley Health Corporation was incorporated in 1971 by a group of San Fernando Valley civic leaders who envisioned establishing a healthcare system that catered to the medical needs of the local community. They opened San Fernando Health Center in 1973 and celebrated its dedication with the late U.S. Senator Ted. Kennedy. Today, NEVHC has grown to 14 health centers in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys and continue to serve the uninsured and the medically underserved patients with limited financial resources. Nearly 70,000 patients receive medical, dental and behavioral health care at our health centers every year. NEVHC, one of the nation’s largest community health centers, is a nonprofit Joint Commission accredited Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
